had dinner last week on some random weekday at this new pizza restaurant called sapore italiano.the seats even had the words printed all over. and there was a buffet that looked quite nice, too bad it was only for those who ordered cocktails.

the decor of the place is based on RED lips. haha

this was the paper mat used to set our table. too shy to ask the waitresses, but it is a series of quotes. the second one means 'Eating is one of the four goals of life, which are the other three, he has never known'. third one seems to be 'No love more sincere than that for food'. erm, yet to translate successfully the other 1. haha

our starter was complimentary bread, and the olive oil and vinegar came in an unusual bottle. the corked side was the oil, and the vinegar. we both agreed that the portion for the squid ink pasta was rather miserable. and as usual, i don't really like squid ink pasta. hahaha even if it was Spaghetti House. Prosciutto pizza was quite salty, but i guess it's supposed to taste like that.

Paid for the meal with Capita vouchers (we were at raffles city). haha so i guess all of you contributed to my dinner. haha

friday's dinner was at TCC, plaza sing. motive: to use up my $10 voucher before it expires.
had beef stew, and mentaiko pasta. both were not bad. pity that TCC aint exactly cheap. haha

been planning to go to the zoo on Saturday, but couldn't bear to wake him up, and it's really nice just to laze around. tried out the chicken & bacon ranch subway, yay! one more sandwich he eats. maybe next week we'll try waking up for the zoo again, or perhaps go for bodyworld exhibit at science centre. time spent with him has drastically reduced now that both of us are working. wanna treasure the time more, and the simple things. just the thought of seeing him makes my day bearable, holding hands make me happy. if i could, i wouldn't even wanna spend time quarreling.

other simple things make me happy too. looking forward to thurs small 2b gathering. and sat's drama one.=)

had fried chicken and spicy rice cake in a korean restaurant at lorong kilat. they were featured in the straits times and on some food blogs. their fried chicken comes in different flavours such as soy garlic, which we tried, and volcano (which we didn't, fearing it'll be too spicy). the korean server was very enthusiastic and friendly, and the place felt quite cosy and comfortable. the chicken was delicious and crispy. the photo shows half a chicken-8 pieces. the rice cake was super Q, and the thick sauce made it yummy.

seems that korean restaurants always serve pickles and salads. the sour taste of the pickled radish was a bit of a shock initially, but it was quite ok. didn't really like the salad though. see who happy he is to eat the chicken!

after that walked by to the nearby udders for icecream. had waffles served with chocmarsh and an icecream with snickers and honeycomb. still preferred the harder waffles served at old airport road though. the funny namecard's back caption proved too irresistible not to take a photo

lorong kilat is quite near his house, so maybe we'll be popping round again to try the other korean restaurant and spanish restaurant. =)

saturday was spent at minds cafe, safra tampines. played some mindless board games that somehow comprised mostly of animals. monkeys, penguins, moles. lol. but i really liked the saboteur game, that required using a bit of brains.

minds cafe crowd. only 5 of us could make it, but it was still quite fun and relaxing to spend a saturday playing games and relaxing. something that we don't try often.

dinner was at pu tien, tampines mall basement one. 7 of us sat at a table for 12, making it look very much like a wedding banquet dinner. hong's treat from her first pay.

kind of hates the feeling that i've to work 5 days before resting 2 days. and all too soon, it's sunday night again. customer audit this friday. don't feel rested, don't feel contented cause there's still many things i want to do, people i want to spend time with. but at the same time, just want to sit and do nothing.

friday night we went shopping at ion orchard to see if there's anything he needs to buy for work. he's starting on monday-tomorrow! :) and cause we reached there early, there wasn't a queue for itacho sushi. so we popped in, taking it as my treat from my first pay.

it's a japanese restaurant brought over from hongkong, so he's been itching to try it out. the service is prompt, and the food is prepared to order, but still, it's amazingly fast. we should have split our order into 2 rounds, because there wasn't enough space to accommodate all we ordered. the sushi was fresh and there was a wide variety. yummy!

total damage for dinner. slightly more than we expected. but we're happy to just spend time eating good food, relaxing before another week starts.

caught 500 days of summer at PS, and unbelievably, sharon has watched it before us! we've been lagging. haha the show wasn't bad, but the ending was kinda lame. and dar couldnt understand how could such a girl like summer exist. goes to show that women can never be completely understood. haahha

sunday was meant to be an outing to the ZOOOOOOO! but it rained, so we ended up cleaning his room. and after that, we managed to cajole his stressed-out sis to join us for dinner at Saizeriya.

food for 5.free flow drink bar at $2.88++, but not those drinks in the menu. haha


how to lose weight when every weekend i eat this much??? plus, i'm totally knackered after work to shift my ass to exercise. boo :(

no zoo for me yesterday!!!!! upset!!!! all because the weather refused to cooperate, it kept raining the entire morning!!!!

so i helped dar clean his room. according to him, he will be very busy when he starts work, so there's no chance of him cleaning his room. and because now his room's sparkling clean, i feel motivated not to live in a dump as well. hahaha so now i shall clean my room, before returning later to blog about my dinner on sat and sun.

had a very busy weekend.

ran errands after work before heading back to bathe and headed out again. went ahma's house, where she entertained us with her kampung stories. nearly exasperated her cause our hokkien fail. she had to resort to using pillows to depict for us the field formation where they grew sweet potato and vegetables. LOL. ahma has had a hard life, and has met some bullies, but she said cause her intentions and heart were always good, that's why she lives to such a long age. she turns 90 next year, and thank god that she is still strong and healthy. tried to give her a red packet, but you wouldn't believe her strength as she refused to let me go until i told her where it was, and forced me to take back. haha, next time i shall try harder, slip it into her drawer without her noticing.

with my first pay collected on 30 sept, i treated my family to dinner at Park Royal Hotel on Kitchener Road (used to be New Park Centra). Restaurant name is 海香阁, and we ate ala-carte buffet! chose this place cause i know my parents like the way the food and the way it is served: only after you order, so it's always hot.

below are 18 dishes we tried. can you imagine how full we were?

only dish that disappointed was the chili crab. it wasn't nice, not much flesh and soft in texture. but i liked the sweet n sour pork in yam ring, and bro liked the venison.

family photos! i could sense my parents were very happy. the meal meant a lot to them. guessed it symbolised that their efforts in bringing me up have finally bore fruits. =) it was especially nice to me too, cause it was easier to show than to put in words how much i appreciate my family and how grateful i am to always have such wonderful support from them. as a family, it was nice to spend mid-autumn festival together :) 月圆人圆。更具意义。

today's lunch was at another Park Royal, this time on Beach Road. totally a coincidence that we keep supporting that hotel chain, haha =p plaza brasserie's Asia buffet.

didn't take photos of the food, cause it was the standard buffet line style, and i was shy to stand there and take photos. unlike yesterday where it was served dish by dish, and i could snap as long as i want. but the food was not bad, quite a wide variety. sushi, sashimi, laksa, roti prata (durian, banana, chocolate, sardine, egg, plain), roasted duck, hainanese chicken, prawns, beef, salad, tao suan, tiramisu, chocolate fondue, etc etc.

two consecutive days of such crazy spread, and so now i am not eating dinner. haha must find time to exercise!

very tired, haven't been resting enough. but i really enjoyed this weekend. it's actually not difficult to make someone happy. even giving granny a birthday red packet from my first pay made her so happy she mentioned it to the aunts. taking some photos during lunch earned me a word of thanks from my 3rd uncle. it actually felt good to be behind the camera, and not in front of it.

appreciate family, for they are, and will always be the ones who stand behind you.

back to work tomorrow, and try to find time to meet friends,exercise, live, love, and save money. looking forward to this weekend when we go the zoo! and next weekend with the girls! i want play mj some weekend!
